2024 NUE Workshop

The University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Department of Crop Sciences is proud to host the annual Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE) Workshop for the first time. Join us for three days of insightful discussions, collaborative sessions, and networking opportunities focusing on enhancing nitrogen management strategies in high-yielding corn-based cropping systems in the Northern Corn Belt.
Event Highlights:
- Unique Focus: The event provides a unique opportunity to spotlight nitrogen management strategies and challenges specific to high-yielding corn-based cropping systems in the Northern Corn Belt.
- Balancing Priorities: We aim to facilitate discussions around the challenges and strategies for balancing water quality, improved nitrogen management, and corn production goals, not only in Illinois but also across the broader agricultural landscape.
- Innovative Ideas: The overarching goal of the Workshop is to bring together university researchers, industry experts, and stakeholders to exchange creative ideas and advance the science of Nitrogen Use Efficiency in agriculture systems.

- The NUE Workshop completed 21 years in 2023
- The first Workshop was held in Stillwater, OK, and organized by Dr. Bill Raun and Dr. Jim Schepers in 2003
- The first Workshop had 24 researchers and industry specialists from Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Virginia, Iowa, Maryland, and Brazil.
- To this date, the conference organizers have been able to work with industry to provide this event at no cost to all who attend.
